During the first three decades of independence, there was a profound transformation of Ukrainian society, with fundamental changes in the socio-economic, political, and ideological spheres, which influenced the demographic development of the country. The work of the collective of researchers of the Institute of Demography and Social Studies named after M.V. Ptukha of the NAS of Ukraine "Population of Ukraine. Essays on the demographic situation of Ukraine in the first thirty years of independence" is dedicated to the study of demographic reproduction in Ukraine during this period, its factors, recent trends, problems, and risks. It presents a comprehensive study of the course of demographic processes and the state of demographic structures, complex and ambiguous changes that have taken place in the demographic sphere, the evolution of demographic policy in Ukraine from the declaration of independence of our country in 1991 to 2021. The publication is a kind of demographic portrait of Ukraine before the full-scale war, which divided the history of our country into "before" and "after," and it can become a starting point for further assessments of the massive and tragic changes that have occurred in the demographic development of the country since 2022 as a result of the full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine.
За перші три десятиріччя незалежності відбулась глибока трансформація українського соціуму, кардинальні зміни у соціально-економічній, політичній, ідеологічній сфері, що вплинули на демографічний розвиток країни. Дослідженню демографічного відтворення в Україні у цей період, його чинників, новітніх тенденцій, проблем і ризиків присвячена праця колективу науковців Інституту демографії та соціальних досліджень імені М.В. Птухи НАН України “Населення України. Нариси про демографічний стан України у перше тридцятиріччя незалежності”. Вона представляє комплексне дослідження перебігу демографічних процесів і стану демографічних структур, складних і неоднозначних змін, які відбувались у демографічній царині, еволюції демографічної політики в Україні від проголошення незалежності нашої країни у 1991 р. до 2021 р. Видання є своєрідним демографічним портретом України перед повномасштабною війною, яка розділила історію нашої країни на “до” і “після”, і може стати відправною віхою для подальших оцінок тих масштабних і трагічних змін, які відбуваються у демографічному розвитку країни з 2022 р. внаслідок повномасштабного вторгнення Росії в Україну. |
