| Description |
During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, society reached a stage of development that allowed adults to come to an awareness of the need to educate their children to show care and compassion for animals. This led to the development of fiction and popular science literature for children in which caring attitudes towards animals were portrayed. This development was facilitated by prominent educators such as Tolstoy and Ushinsky, who wrote readers for children, and by the emergence of literary works, translations and anthologies that explored this theme, and led to the proliferation of ideas regarding the humane treatment of animals. Of particular note is a series of anthologies entitled Animal Friend, that is examined in some detail.
Наприкінці 19 – на початку 20 століття суспільство досягло такої стадії розвитку, яка дозволила дорослим усвідомити необхідність виховувати у дітей турботу та співчуття до тварин. Це призвело до розвитку художньої та науково-популярної літератури для дітей, у якій зображувалося дбайливе ставлення до тварин. Цьому розвитку сприяли такі видатні педагоги, як Толстой і Ушинський, які писали читанки для дітей, а також поява літературних творів, перекладів і антологій, які досліджували цю тему, і призвели до поширення ідей щодо гуманного ставлення до тварин. Особливої уваги заслуговує серія антологій під назвою «Друг тварин», яка розглядається досить детально. |
