Description На підставі архівних джерел висвітлено історичні підвалини започаткування в Україні (початок 1930-х рр.) на державному рівні систематизованого наукового дослідження дітей з особливими потребами.
Охарактеризовано діяльність наукових інституцій (сер.1940-х-сер.1950-х рр.), які розробляли питання вивчення, освіти, медико-педагогічної корекції і соціалізації глухих, сліпих, з вадами ментального розвитку дітей.
Historical foundations are covered on the basis of archival sources beginning in Ukraine (early 1930's) at the state level of systematic scientific research of children with special needs.
The activity of scientific institutions (Aug.1940-Aug.1950), which developed the issues of study, education, medical and pedagogical correction and socialization of the deaf, blind, with mental defects of children, is characterized.
