Будь-який технологічний процес виконується "в прямому напрямку" - від сировини до кінцевого продукту. Однак будь-яка технологія розробляється (проектується) в зворотному порядку - від вимог до готового продукту до характеристик проміжних до вхідних сировинних включно і до засобів забезпечення цих характеристик на всіх стадіях переробки. Навчальний процес не виняток - при складанні навчальних планів спочатку повинні бути визначені вимоги до знань і навичок випускників і сформовані навчальні плани заключних предметних курсів, визначено рівень підготовки слухачів, необхідний для сприйняття заключного і, очевидно, найбільш складного матеріалу - в тому числі по підтримувальних дисциплін , що не відносяться безпосередньо до випусковим кафедрам.
